Enhanced SEO Features
SEO is a long-term process. If you’ve just launched your website, it will take at least 10 weeks for Google to start fully incorporating it into search results. When you make changes to your site, expect it to take 6-8 weeks for Google to incorporate those changes.
How do I add enhanced SEO features to my site?
Enhanced search engine optimization (SEO) features are available as part of our $39/month Plus plan. If you'd like to upgrade, just contact support.
What is enhanced SEO?
SEO improves the performance of your website and helps search engines understand the meaning and context of the content you publish. Optimized pages are more likely to be included in relevant search results. Our enhanced SEO features include accelerated page load speeds, automated HTML validation, Google XML sitemap submission, and simplified on-page SEO using dynamically generated page titles, meta tags and image alt attributes.
How do I make the most of the SEO enhancements?
- Enter your global keyword settings under Settings > SEO. For best results, make sure your information is clear, concise, and accurate. To see examples, hover your cursor over the question mark icons next to each field in the SEO settings panel.
- Set your business name and tag line under Settings > Account. We recommend including your location (i.e. city/neighborhood and state) in the tag line field, unless those words are already included in your business name.
- Use descriptive, interesting blog post titles that summarize the main subject of the post.
- Publish original content. Google loves experts who publish long articles.
I changed my keyword settings, but Google still shows the old keywords. Why?
Google isn't real-time, so it will take several weeks before the results begin to update. We recommend that you wait 3-4 months after changing keyword settings before evaluating the results. In addition, Google may choose to display your site differently for different searches or may ignore your settings if their algorithm determines that you are using inaccurate keywords.
If I downgrade my plan, will I lose the benefits of the Enhanced SEO?
Yes. The enhanced SEO features work in real-time, so if you downgrade your plan you will lose all benefits of those features.
I want a quick traffic boost. Can SEO do that?
No. Search engine optimization is about building a high quality website that can rank in searches. SEO should be considered a long-term strategy. If you are looking for a "quick fix", you might want to try paid search advertising using Google AdWords.
Can I do SEO manually?
You can manually set page titles, meta tags, and alt attributes on a page-by-page basis, and you can also directly edit your HTML code if you wish. Learn more about manual on-page search engine optimization.
