Where's the WWW part of my domain name?

WWW is not part of a domain name

The www is not part of your domain name. It is a web server configuration setting that some servers use and some do not. By default a web server will show your website at both www.mywebsite.com and mywebsite.com. This can lead to duplicate content problems that affect search engine optimization. To avoid these SEO issues Google's webmaster guidelines say that we should allow either the www version or the non-www version, but not both. This is known as canonicalization. On our servers we have chosen the non-www version, however you can still feel free to write your website address either way on your business cards, etc. if you prefer the aesthetics of the www version.
